 Affordable laser printer January 7, 2009
This laser printer from Brother is very affordable. The setup was easy and its speed is great. I have not figure out the manual feed yet. I don't know it can print legal size paper. Since I don't, it is not a problem. I have not tried wireless and network feature.
There are 2 complaints:
1) Power Surge. When I plug it in a surge protected multi-plug panel which shares the same wall jack with a light, the light will flicker. Luckily it didn't boot off my computer like some of the other people had experienced. So I plugged it into a different wall jack which doesn't have a light or computer and its accessories.
2) Print Side. It is pretty awkward to me when I print on to a pre-printed form. I need to remember to face it down and head it exactly the way the paper would come out of the printer. I am just not used to it. I guess some instructions on the printer itself would help.
Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.

The printer works well. Some dificulty in setup as it came with a pre-set IP address. No instructions for reset were included with the printer. Found them on the company (Brother) web site. Re-setting the address allowed setup to be completed. No problems since.

Worked perfectly, took 10 minutes to set up and it works great on our 4 computer wireless network. Just follow the instructions.

had to use windows plug and pray to search for a driver from the internet, the disc included with the printer had worthless software
Exceptional Printer, Easy Setup January 6, 2009
Since I do most of my printing in black & white, it made sense to go with a laser monochrome. This printer has been a answer to my home office prayers. It's inexpensive, prints easy to read text page, wakes from the energy-saving sleep cycle very quickly, and was easy to set up for printing, although the wireless setup on my iMac was a little more involved than I had expected. However, once set up, the wireless has worked exceptionally well, anywhere in the house; from the desktop, to the laptop, again, anywhere in the house, as well as outdoors.
