1 out of 5 stars No Vista drivers come with package   September 5, 2008
I read the reviews for this product before ordering and was warned about the absence of Vista drivers. I followed the advise of one reviewer and downloaded the Vista drivers from the manufacturers web site. I received the products promptly from Amazon as usual. I went to install it with the downloaded Vista drivers but the Zip file would not open on either of my Vista computers. I downloaded them again and the same thing and again, same thing, computer says the folders are empty. Well, I search the web high and low to find the files I needed but to no avail. I tried the program that came with the product but no good, wont work. My advice, before ordering this item, download the files for Vista and actually open them and make sure the program runs, otherwise you'll waste your time and add to your frustrations. I can't believe that this company does not supply the proper drivers with the product, it's not like Vista is brand new on the market and no one is using it......
I ordered another brand, I'll write a review on that one too when it arrives.

1 out of 5 stars wireless adapter   September 5, 2008
Junk, do not buy. Need to reinstall every time you shut computer off. Windows does not recognize it and there is no customer support in USA.

5 out of 5 stars Vista User   September 5, 2008
Take note of the previous Vista user's review. This device does not come with Vista drivers- you must download them, although a Google search for "[model #] drivers" yields exactly what you're looking for. Once I got the drivers installed, this device worked like a charm. I thought it was a little risky taking a chance on a device that wasn't brand name, although I'm glad I paid half of what I would've for an actual name-brand. This is actually a LevelOne device, which is name brand. It works great and paying less than twenty bucks is a huge savings over other brands. Simple and effective. : )

5 out of 5 stars Works out of the box with XP   August 30, 2008
Unwrapped it, plugged it in, XP found drivers, entered my network password, and it works. Can't ask for more than that.

3 out of 5 stars Vista Users: Read this!   August 16, 2008

Alright, so I moved into an apartment complex for college that boasted "free wireless internet." The problem being that I didn't have a wireless card in my computer, and I didn't have a lot of money. So, I ordered with with an Amazon gift certificate I had. And it got here, and didn't work. It installed the software and what not, but when it said "Please insert USB adapter" or something similar, I would, and nothing would happen.

To make it work with your Vista computer, you need to go online and download the Vista drivers. It's not hard or anything, a quick Google search of the product code (WNC-0305USB, I believe) will get it for you. It just seems silly to me that they don't give you the Vista driver with it ... you know, since it's something to get ONLINE, and you can't get the driver unless you're ONLINE. Whatever.

Anyway, it works just fine. Not super fast, but that's probably my internet connection, not the adapter. My wireless hub thing is in my kitchen closet, on the other side of the apartment from my computer, and my signal strength is nice and high.

The three stars is because it is NOT as easy to set up as you might think, unless you get the Vista drivers.
