Product Description Like all Sharx TM wireless security camera kits the Sharx DoubleCam TM is very easy to use. You simply connect the included receiver to a TV (or a computer with standard NTSC video input). Then you take the cameras where you want to use them, up to 200 ft away from the receiver, and plug them into power with the included AC adapters. You can immediately see video from your cameras on your TV, and you can add more Sharx indoor/outdoor wireless cameras or baby monitors if you like, up to 4 cameras total. The latest generation receiver design is stylish, compact, and has both a digital channel readout and a credit card size remote control so that you can conveniently view both cameras. In households near 2.4 GHz Wifi b or g networks you can use both cameras without interference as long as you follow the recommended channel selection guidelines. In areas with no Wifi b or g networks nearby you can expand this system with an additional DoubleCam kit or other Sharx wireless cameras or baby monitors, up to a total of 4 cameras.

Good picture as long as you don't have anything that could interfere with it. December 4, 2008 It's a good thing that we just got rid of our normal landline phone service and went with all cellular phones. The one base station that I still had hooked up for the cordless phone was still interfering with the wireless operation even though we didn't have any phones hooked up to it. Also, if you have a wireless router, be sure to change the channel that your network is broadcasting on to the recommended channel that is shown in the cameras' user manual. Once I got rid of the cordless base and changed the channel on the router, everything was up and running very smoothly. It's a crystal clear picture and the detail is as expected for something in this price range.
Very Poor Performace, A lot of Static and noise even at a VERY SHORT DISTANCE. November 23, 2008 I have tried everything to make these cameras work, I would like to know how you make them work unless you have the camera receiver in the same room as the camera itself???, the user's guide says I need to disconnect all cordless phones in my home and them set up my wireless router to a different channel and MAYBE it'll work... well in my case, they didn't!!!
If you want a a baby monitor and your baby is next door, then I guess it's a great purchase, but if you plan to get these little cameras for security monitoring (like I did...), DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!, this is not made for security monitoring, I would only recommend this for some in-house usage, don't even try to go outdoors with these things, they will give you a headache.
Great product/Great seller November 7, 2008 I am using this product as a baby monitor and so far so good. The image is clear either in light or darkness. I can see my son in his crib and see him move even his fingers. I brought this product through Amazon from a third party seller (www.securcam.com), they are a very customer oriented company and have excellent customer service and very quick response if you have a question or trouble with the product.
Great night vision security camera October 7, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I took me less than 5 minutes to connect this camera system to my digital picture frame. One camera to watch my baby at night and one to watch my front door. Video is very good and clear with these CMOS sensor and amazing in night vision mode. Even though the room has no light, I can see my baby clearly in B/W mode. Audio is also very good. Size of these two camera are compact and nice in design. There are many ways to install it. With $108, this security camera system is a very good deal.
Nice new generation technology camera combo! August 29, 2008 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I've purchased several consumer-grade surveillance cameras (wired and wireless) over the years - and they typically promise a lot and deliver a lot less. However, I'm very impressed with this product from Sharx - quality, performance and very reasonable cost.
This picture quality from the camera (both color and B&W) is from the newer generation CMOS sensors....not quite as good as CCD but costing less and much much better than CMOS sensors from even a couple of years ago.
I decided on the double-camera unit because it's more economical than adding a second camera later, and having matched cameras gives more consistent image quality. The camera seems quite rugged for a consumer product and the weather resistance (at least for a couple of months) is holding up fine. The camera comes with a sunshade - which is an absolute gotta have if your camera ever points in the direction of the sun. And, there's an extra hole in the sunshade so the camera can be mounted from the top or bottom (without having the image be flipped over). The camera is made in China (they all are these days), but it's a higher quality of build than other more expensive camera combos I've evaluated.
For newbies at this, the advantage of using wireless is that installation is *much* easier for existing structures than a wired camera. However, since this camera uses some of the same frequency bands as WiFi networks, you'll either have to live with some interference on the image, or configure it so that the WiFi networks channel and camera channels don't overlap. If you're in a denser urban WiFi network environment, I'd recommend limiting yourself to two cameras. If you're in rural setting with no WiFi...then you can expand to four camera.
The other nice feature is the "channel skip" on the receiver, so if you're only using two cameras, the receiver doesn't have to (like most of the competition) scan and display all four channels (two of which are empty).
If you're into technical specs (like I am), the company's website includes more technical details on the camera.
Bottom line - very nice product (from one who knows) and great price.
