EXCELLENT Product, don't listen to the down-talk June 19, 2007 I've had 2 sets of these for about 3 years now. Was so happy with the first pair I bought another for the upstairs computer as well.
I'm totally convinced the people who suggest "mic eating" are dealing with sound card adjusments or just low quality sound cards in general.
I'm a gamer and I'm able to hear my game in full stereo, crystal clear, as well as Ventrilo conversations with no problems whatsoever.
The mic stays put exactly where I want it, and doesn't pick up much background sounds if any at all.
I absolutely suggest this product for the price. 5 stars, hands down, thumbs up.
Good sound but been through 2 pair that broke September 16, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I loved the sound quality of these headphones for the price, and the microphone was not too bad. The only problem I have had though, is that I am on my second broken pair. The volume control device keeps failing. I think wires inside the volume control are actually breaking. When I play with it for a while I finally get sound, but otherwise there they have completely stopped working. Last time a pair broke on me with the same issue, I called technical support and immediately after telling the rep. the problem, she said they would replace them without me even sending in the broken ones. That says to me, they must have been aware of the problem, and it must be a common problem.
Best deal for the money November 30, 2004 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Let's just break it down here....
Mic - It works great and you don't have to "eat" it. The people having problems with the mic during gaming are probably on low grade sound cards that competes with their audio output. If you have a decent sound card, and above average video card with independent memory, the mic rocks. The boom is very adjustable too and stays put without slipping. I think we've all had mics we've had to hold with one hand because they don't stay in place. Not this one...it sticks. If you're not a gamer, then you shouldn't have any worries whatsoever about audio output.
Headphones - They are about as adjustable as you can possibly get. The ear pads are really comfortable and oval shaped instead of round, so they cover your whole ear and make the stereo output sound all the better.
Control - The volume control on the wire is very sensitive, perfect. Plus, it also has an extra button on the control to quickly turn the mic on or off. Nice when you want to cut the mic really quick and scream (lol) without having to mess with turning down the volume.
Sound - Cystal clear, no distortion or hissing, even on the highest volume setting. Love that.
I have 3 headphones ranging from $35 to about $65, and I keep going back to this one. You can't find better in this price range.
Excellent Sound. Comfortable. Adjustable. Works Perfectly! May 27, 2004 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have had this headset with microphone for quite some time. I originally bought it for on-line webcasts and radio shows. The sound comes through perfectly from the comfortable and adjustable padded headset, and the mic works just beautifully, for others to hear crystal clear voice over the Internet. I have also used this to listen to meditation music, and the quality is superb. I can't imagine why others have given this product negative reviews, perhaps the sound system on their computer doesn't work well. I have recommended this headset & mic to many people I know, simply because it works, and the price is right. Highly recommended!
Take This Out In The Garbage! April 8, 2004 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Don't even waste your cash. What was Labtec making? Drek! Poor voice recognition. Low sound reception. Then, even worse, an awkward on / off switch. Instead I suggest the high performance Logitech 980130-0403 Premium USB 300 Headset.
