Worth the Money October 21, 2008 Ableton Live is a powerful DAW with lots of innovative features. In order to get the most out of it you need to have a good in-depth understanding of all its capability. This book provides lots of solid information and you can download accompanying lessons which makes it very easy to follow along. I also have the previous book covering Live 6. Both books are very helpful. Bottom Line: If you have Ableton Live you should have one of these books.
Good intro September 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is good for people who are new to Ableton. It is not an exhaustive reference. Once you are comfortable with the program you will not need this book.
You can learn Ableton with the included tutorials and online resources. This book is a nice supplement but it is not indispensable.
Excellent September 17, 2008 By far the best book on this subject. Easy to follow with lots of tips. Very thorough.
Terrific Guide for all levels September 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I thought that the book was written in clear down-to-earth language and covered all the basics of LIVE, as well as minute details about the individual parameters. While some sections are definitely for advanced users already familiar with DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations), there's plenty of space dedicated to covering basics-really taking the time to explain the logic behind each function as well. I find myself using this as a theoretical as well as a quick reference guide. Well worth the price.
