Product Description Fast and friendly answers to all your NetWare networking questions are right at your fingertips with Networking With NetWare For Dummies Quick Reference, your one-stop solution to solving common network dilemmas. Organized topically from A to Z, this slim little book lives up to its Quick Reference name by giving you what you need, when you need it. No more thumbing through page after page of encyclopedic reference books, trying to find that elusive piece of information you need to get your network up and running; just flip open the book (with its easy lay-flat binding) and get what you want so you can get back to work. Networking With NetWare For Dummies Quick Reference starts with the basics -- getting to know Novell's sophisticated NetWare operating system (through Version 5) -- and moves on to cover installation and configuration, utilities and tools, common commands, integrating NetWare with Windows NT, typical tasks for network administration, and adding TCP/IP functionality to your NetWare network. The book also features sound advice on getting help when you really need it and finding online NetWare resources; plus, it contains an easy-to-use alphabetical "Techie Talk" glossary of NetWare and networking terms.

Smooth and tight reference for when ya gotta move fast. December 21, 1998 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
A neat little book! You wouldn't fly a 747 without checklists; the frustration is always in the details. When something takes out the network, or the server isn't behaving itself, you won't be wading through philosphy or obtuse theory to get to the one thing you forgot to do.Believe it or not, Networking with Netware for Dummies Quick Reference is readable and well organized, with enough context and breadth to help focus you on your next problem. Think of it as having a yellow-clad peer helping you out in a bind. Why only four stars? Well, client installation and details are weak for 3.1x. Although we all know that 3.1x networks are fading, it's those older network quirks that are most likely to chomp the old gluteals. Don't I wish there was an NT version of this book! Buy it today..buy two of them, you're bound to have one stolen by an evil co-worker.
