most thorough of the a+ prep books October 1, 2008 The questions in this book were a full notch or two above the real exam. I am 20+ years out of college, no pc tech experience and got 725/900. Practice test by rmroberts.com I thought was good; downloadeable off of google. I got 79 missed two easy questions and got 81 on real exam. Author said if you got above 70 you were ready. Cliff Notes is much more thorough, but is not overkill as explanations are there for every question.
Not the best exam prep book August 16, 2008 This book really didn't help me at all, only made me question whether I was ready to take the exam. Some of the questions were not written well and others were way too difficult for the A+ exam. There are many other test question books out there that do the job much better than this one does unfortunately.
Why make it easy when you can make it difficult....... August 14, 2008 The questions in this book are much, much too difficult. They don't resemble the questions qua format or difficulty you get on the real exam.
This book made me feel depressed and gave me the impression I had made the wrong study choice. I have quit using this book after the first practise exam.
For a much better book take a look at ExamCram Practise Questions by Charles Brooks. The questions in this book resemble the questions on the real exam. The real exam is easy when you know your stuff.
Recently I have passed both the 601 and 602 exams (IT technician) on the first atttempt.
A good study guide... July 20, 2008 This book is a good study tool for preparing for the Comptia A+ exams. I haven't taken either exam as of yet, but I think I am better prepared after going through this book and taking the practice tests. The answers are explained thoroughly, so just reading through them is a good review. I'm glad I made this purchase.
Harder than the real thing and highly recommended! June 28, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Let me ask you a question: when you sit for the A+ exams, do you want to barely pass or do you want to ace them? If yours is the second choice, then I must insist that you get this book.
As other reviewers have noted, these practice questions are often much more difficult than the real questions... and that is a good thing! On the real exams, two of the possible answers will usually be clearly wrong and two will be plausible. To choose the correct answer, you must be able to see through trick questions and really know your stuff. I can think of no better resource than this one to help you accomplish that goal.
