Best Reading Ever November 23, 2008 Stephenie is an absolute genius. Her writing is so easy to read and the books just flow.
Sexism abound November 23, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Is there a single strong female character in the Twilight series? Note, I said series, because it is NOT a saga. How stupid does Stephenie Meyers have to be to call this series a saga? This just proves she should not be allowed to write if she does not know the definition of saga. On to the books themselves...Bella is a horrible excuse for a "heroine", she is nothing but a sexist character. She can do nothing without her beloved Edward. Edward, who is also a horrible excuse for a "vampire" (he freakin' sparkles in the sunlight!), is so emotionally abusive and controlling of Bella; one wonders why these teenage girls are so in love with him. It is scary that so many women and young girls love this sexist book. It was badly written, but the sexism just tops it all off. Stephenie Meyers seems to force her "women are just good for housewives" beliefs on us, and that should scare parents more than Harry Potter's so-called "support of witchcraft". Bella even had a choice of abusive Edward, or a guy that actually loves her and cares about her, Jacob. Why did she not choose the guy that would be better for HER? Instead she chooses the scary, "you're mine, I will kill every guy I see you just look at", controlling Edward. I am in no way with that whole "Team Jacob" cult, because I absolutely loathe these book so much. Perhaps they would have been a bit better if Bella actually had choices...
Love these books! November 23, 2008 I love these books! Though intended for younger readers they're fun for any age. I would recommend them to anyone.
I am in love with this story!!! November 22, 2008 The twilight series has been a wonderful adventure, I am so glad I took the advice of my friend to read it!! I have read most of the books twice, and plan to again in the future, that is why I purchased the hardcover box set, durability over the years!! Edward and Bella's story has been magical, captivating, and truly a unique mixture of love and suspense. Stephanie Meyer has proved herself an amazingly gifted writer, and I know most of us will be awaiting (patiently) for book number 5, which will hopefully tell the tale from a different perspective. I recommend this book to everyone, (my husband is reading and loving the series as well right now,) this is truly a story to be loved by all!!

You could just buy a shirt with two guys kissing on it and get the same vibe you get from these books.
