Erick Does it Again October 12, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Erick Simpson has done it again - he has created a fantastic resource for peopole in the managed services business, or any service business for that matter. He brings no nonsense ideas, practical tips and just plain old common sense together in this book. I encourage you to read and apply what he shares. His experience and connection with many partners in the IT industry have provided a must have read.
Dead on, the "guru" himself gives you his best stuff October 8, 2008 Erick Simpson is a leading author on the subject of managed services and how to build, sell, market, and manage in an IT practice. His third book focuses on how to deliver services.
Erick walks through the four basic models of service delivery, and then the basic "states" each could be in. This gives something for everyone, from a break-fix provider to a managed service one. In particular, the hiring section of this book is dead on. How to recruit, hire, and screen is a difficult task, and Erick gives you a direct, usable steps to improve your hiring process.
A great reference to make decisions about your service delivery, both in how you do it and how you change it.
